About Affiliate or Bust

Welcome to the Affiliate or Bust website. If you are reading this, then you must have some interest or have heard about affiliate marketing.

You may remember the old Western movies when you would see a covered wagon with the phrase “California or Bust” painted on it. They would try to head west in search of gold and had to deal with bad weather, crossing the Rocky Mountains, crossing the desert, and local aborigionies and wild animals along the way. “California or Bust” meant either getting to California or die trying.

Affiliate or Bust wants to help you succeed in affilate marketing, or die trying.

MY STORY

Back in the 1990s, I had a position as a computer contractor, and I had the pleasure to work from home for a year, or so I thought. From home, I could work on programs locally, and submit it back to the company, but it wasn’t as quick and easy as it is today. So, what would take me 8 hours at the office turned out to be 10 hours at home. What made it worse was I had to be on call at night. Whether getting beeped at the movies or out with friends, or getting woken up in the middle of the night to fix a problem before the system came back up at 6am. Not exactly the dream job I had hope for.

Around 15 years ago, I was looking for work and found something online to do work on the computer to sell certain reports to people from a company. If any of the reports I sent were paid by the recipient, I would get $1 out of each $5 paid. Now this sounded good to me until the manager came on the phone and told me I had to pay $2,200 for the software that I would need to do this. What? $2,200? Now I would have to sell 2,200 reports before I would see a profit. When I questioned this, he told me I was acting like a little kid. I replied, “The only way I would be acting like a little kid is being suckered into buying $2,200 worth of software”, and that was the end of that.

Back then, working from home sounded good, but wasn’t as easy as most people thought. As time went on, there were work from home scams like surveys or mystery shoppers. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few of these that are legitimate, but you may be doing a lot of long surveys before you see any profit.

I have had different jobs since then, but there was no job security. By 2016, I started looking online and learned about affiliate marketing. It looks like it has been around for years and some people have found success with it. Compared to other work from home jobs, affiliate marketing is legitimate and you can get to a point where you can make a decent salary. You may even be able to leave your current job someday as a result.

If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Kevin
